War Tweets
The data is culled from the Iraq Body Count Database http://www.iraqbodycount.org/database/. Frustrated with the lack of visibility of the war, we wanted to put something together quickly to see if we could find a way to get attention to a horrible atrocity in an interesting way. We decided to work with Twitter. The code is available for anyone that wants it. You can find it .My hope was that if we saw, really saw the amount of deaths coming in then it would snap me/us out of my/our comatose existences. It feels weird to work on a data feed of deaths but I hope that it will trigger something. Everytime someone dies it is broadcast across the Twitterverse.
